The next Internet trend: Ruby and Rails geeks buy the Motorola PEBL phone because David and Jason both raved about it. Less Phone, that sort of thing.

Ummm... If Verizon offered it, I'd jump on that bandwagon. That phone looks sweet.
And, I've gotta say, Jason Fried seems to spend most of his working day worrying about cell phone design, so his opinion definitely counts.

David bought his unlocked from http://www.myworldphone.com/pabl.html I'm not sure how the carriers around here handle that, but in theory if you're willing to spend $250 on the phone it should work with whatever carrier you've got.

I actually do like the phone. And yes, Jason has been obsessed with cell phone UI's for a while now. But there's another round of rumors about an Apple phone, so I'm not rushing into anything. Certainly not before the early April Apple announcements.
