Miscellaneous tabs still open from last week:
Robert Young on the fat belly of the Long Tail.
Kiko threw in the towel and put the company up for sale on eBay. It went for $250K. Tucows explains why they bought the technology.
Another excellent minimalist layout a la Craigslist and Facebook. More good content, too.
Useful: How to Have Better Conversations.

The "better conversations" guy doesn't seem interested in finding out who the other person is. I wonder if he considers talk with that object to be something other than conversation, or if it just hasn't occurred to him that people might be interesting or important to know.
He does note that these creatures seem to expect similar-sized piles of personal information to be dumped by each participant in the conversational process.
His "conversation from the outside in" strategy (note externals associated with success and attempt to reproduce and enhance them) feels like mine when I'm in a defensive posture.
When I happen to blunder into some warm feelings for the person I'm with (while actually in their presence!) I'm a better person to talk with. I'm guessing this is true for him, too, but that he isn't used to sorting his memory by feelings in a blogging context.
